Rania Abulhasan

Rania Abulhasan is a contemporary Kuwaiti artist. Her art work is strongly influenced by her experience of fashion and product design: she emphasizes life and movement, using shapes and vibrant colors to express her ideas and communicate her message. Professionally working in Art and Design since 1998, Rania finds that her passion for her work, and for sharing her love of beauty, continues to grow.

Rania holds a Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts from The New School at Parsons School of Art and Design; she started her university education at Parsons in Paris, then moved to New York to complete her degree. She majored in Fashion Design, while continuing to explore her passion for design and Fine Arts: she attended a fine arts program at the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris and minored in Product Design at Parsons. Throughout her studies, Rania worked with many influential artists and designers in New York, Paris and Milan.

Rania first exhibited her work in a group show in Paris in 1995. She continues to exhibit in, and draw inspiration from, the cities where she lives.

Rania started her design career in 1999 working for LVMH, where her passion for fine art continued to inspire her work. She created a concept line of home products, including small furniture pieces and home scents, in 2005. Currently, Rania is a partner in Unschooled Designers, a Kuwaiti interior design firm. She has also worked on a packaging for a Mexican Chocolate-ire company which just debuted in Mexico. Rania continues to exhibit her work.
